Walter Singletary / Senior Pastor

I was saved by the grace of God through the Lord Jesus Christ in January of 1961.  I was 8 years old.  I was raised in church by Christian parents who loved me very much.  I was called into full-time Christian service in Vacation Bible School at 10 years of age.  When I became a teenager, I began to run from God’s call on my life.

God never stopped loving me or calling me.  He never stopped pursuing me to serve Him with my whole life and heart. He was a persistent, loving Heavenly Father and He knew that my best, happiest life would be when I lived for Him.
I have been in full-time service to Him as a Pastor for nearly 30 years and He has filled my life with wonderful blessings as I have followed Him.  My wife, Wanna and I have been married for 47 years and we have two wonderful grown children, a son and a daughter, and 9 grandchildren.
We have been at Hills Crossing for 10 years and love the people and the area.   We love nothing more than helping people find the joy, strength, blessings, and fellowship through Christ that we have found here.
Please come and worship with us.  Maybe even this Sunday!!

 Amy Smith  / Worship Leader

I accepted Christ while in middle school during a missionary’s testimony.  I grew up in Vermont and came to Georgia in 1994 to attend  Toccoa Falls College.  I graduated in 1998 with a strong Biblical foundation and degree in Music Composition.  I attended First Alliance Church in Toccoa for over 20 years, singing in the choir and worship team, leading children’s musicals, and serving as the interim worship leader in 2014.  I have been leading worship at Hills Crossing Baptist Church since 2015.

I am married and have 3 children.  My passion is making music for the Lord, but I also enjoy crafts and sewing, painting, and any activity that brings me outside.

Andrea Thomason / Children’s Ministry Director

Hills Crossing Baptist has been my church home since I was a week old.I grew up in this church with many of the people who still attend here. As a child I attended Sunday School, Mission Friends, Girls In Action, and youth group. I attended several youth camps, and many mission trips growing up. As I grew up I began working with children in various positions as a Sunday School Assistant Teacher, Nursery Worker, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and now as the Children’s Director. I love working with the children and seeing them grow into wonderful young Christians.

Carey Anderson / Secretary

I grew up attending a small church in Wilkes County.  Every Saturday evening my brother, my cousins and I would spend the night with our grandparents so that we could go to Sunday School the next morning.  At a young age I accepted Christ as my Savior.

I received my Early Childhood Education degree from Athens Technical College and worked as a daycare teacher for a year.  Then my husband’s grandmother told me that her church was looking for a new secretary, so I applied.  In February of 2002 I was hired at Hills Crossing Baptist Church.

I have been a member of Hills Crossing since 2002.  I’ve been married since 2000 and have 2 children.
