                               Amy Smith  / Worship Leader

I grew up in a small church in Vermont.  My father was the pianist, and I was taught the truths of Scripture from a very young age.  I accepted Christ while in middle school during a missionary’s testimony, and I new I wanted to somehow be in ministry.  When I was a junior in high school I participated in the All-New England Choir, and that was when I decided to pursue music.  I  came to Georgia in 1994 to attend  Toccoa Falls College.  I graduated in 1998 with a strong Biblical foundation and degree in Music Composition.  I attended First Alliance Church in Toccoa for over 20 years, singing in the choir and worship team, leading children’s musicals, and serving as the interim worship leader in 2014.  I have been leading worship at Hills Crossing Baptist Church since 2015.

I am married and have 3 children.  My passion is making music for the Lord, but I also enjoy crafts and sewing, painting, and any activity that brings me outside.

Andrea Thomason / Children’s Ministry Director

Hills Crossing Baptist has been my church home since I was a week old.  I grew up in this church with many of the people who still attend here. As a child I attended Sunday School, Mission Friends, Girls In Action, and youth group. I attended several youth camps, and many mission trips growing up. As I grew up I began working with children in various positions as a Sunday School Assistant Teacher, Nursery Worker, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and now as the Children’s Director. I love working with the children and seeing them grow into wonderful young Christians.

Carey Anderson / Secretary

I grew up attending a small church in Wilkes County.  Every Saturday evening my brother, my cousins and I would spend the night with our grandparents so that we could go to Sunday School the next morning.  At a young age I accepted Christ as my Savior.

I received my Early Childhood Education degree from Athens Technical College and worked as a daycare teacher for a year.  Then my husband’s grandmother told me that her church was looking for a new secretary, so I applied.  In February of 2002 I was hired at Hills Crossing Baptist Church.

I have been a member of Hills Crossing since 2002.  I’ve been married since 2000 and have 2 children.
