Walter Singletary / Senior Pastor
I was saved by the grace of God through the Lord Jesus Christ in January of 1961. I was 8 years old. I was raised in church by Christian parents who loved me very much. I was called into full-time Christian service in Vacation Bible School at 10 years of age. When I became a teenager, I began to run from God’s call on my life.
I accepted Christ while in middle school during a missionary’s testimony. I grew up in Vermont and came to Georgia in 1994 to attend Toccoa Falls College. I graduated in 1998 with a strong Biblical foundation and degree in Music Composition. I attended First Alliance Church in Toccoa for over 20 years, singing in the choir and worship team, leading children’s musicals, and serving as the interim worship leader in 2014. I have been leading worship at Hills Crossing Baptist Church since 2015.
I am married and have 3 children. My passion is making music for the Lord, but I also enjoy crafts and sewing, painting, and any activity that brings me outside.
Andrea Thomason / Children’s Ministry Director
Hills Crossing Baptist has been my church home since I was a week old.I grew up in this church with many of the people who still attend here. As a child I attended Sunday School, Mission Friends, Girls In Action, and youth group. I attended several youth camps, and many mission trips growing up. As I grew up I began working with children in various positions as a Sunday School Assistant Teacher, Nursery Worker, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and now as the Children’s Director. I love working with the children and seeing them grow into wonderful young Christians.
I grew up attending a small church in Wilkes County. Every Saturday evening my brother, my cousins and I would spend the night with our grandparents so that we could go to Sunday School the next morning. At a young age I accepted Christ as my Savior.
I received my Early Childhood Education degree from Athens Technical College and worked as a daycare teacher for a year. Then my husband’s grandmother told me that her church was looking for a new secretary, so I applied. In February of 2002 I was hired at Hills Crossing Baptist Church.
I have been a member of Hills Crossing since 2002. I’ve been married since 2000 and have 2 children.
