Music Ministries
The worship ministry of Hills Crossing seeks to create a rich, meaningful, and spiritually transformative worship experience that bridges historical traditions with contemporary expressions of faith. We offer a blended style of music with a come as you are atmosphere. Please click here for a more in-depth theological understanding of our worship philosophy.
Historical Roots
We stress the importance of grounding our worship in the traditions and practices of the early church, viewing this to connect contemporary worship with its historical roots.
Christ Centered Worship
Central to our worship is our focus on Christ and the narrative of God's salvation history. Worship should recount and celebrate the story of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection.
Community and Participation
We advocate for worship that is communal and participatory, encouraging active engagement from the congregation rather than passive observation.
Baptism & Lord's Supper
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It symbolizes faith in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, representing the believer’s death to sin and new life in Christ. As a church ordinance, it is required for church membership and participation in the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act where church members eat bread and drink from the vine to remember Jesus' death and anticipate His return.
Blended Worship
We support a blended worship style that incorporates elements from various traditions, including liturgical, evangelical, and spirit-led practices. This approach aims to enrich worship and foster unity among our diverse Christian community.
Formation and Transformation
Worship, should be formative and transformative, shaping the lives of believers and leading them into deeper spiritual maturity and discipleship.
Narrative Structure
Worship should follow a narrative structure that mirrors the biblical story, often framed around themes such as creation, fall, redemption, and restoration.
Cultural Context
While honoring tradition, we also recognize the importance of contextualizing worship to make it relevant and accessible to our contemporary culture.
