“After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.” - (2 Chronicles 20:21)

Many of us are familiar with the story of Israel’s King, Jehoshaphat. When the nation of Israel was faced with an enemy they had no hope of defeating, King Jehoshaphat sent a choir out in front of the army, singing praises to God. When they arrived at the enemy encampment, the opposing armies had completely annihilated one another.

We are facing an invisible enemy. No, it is not the coronavirus. It is FEAR. Fear is the enemy that sneaks up on you in the middle of the night when you’re lying still in bed. Fear is the enemy that infiltrates your ranks and causes you to fight among yourselves. Fear is the enemy that blinds you and steals your joy. How do we fight such a powerful, unseen enemy? With PRAISE!

“I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.” (Psalm 13:6) “I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.” (Psalm 18:3) “Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise” (Psalm 48:1) “Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.” (Psalm 96:2) “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” (Psalm 150:6)

Let’s praise him together!

In Christ, Amy Smith
