The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” - (Numbers 6:24-26)

This is one of the most famous benedictions in all of Scripture. It has been set to music multiple times (one of which I hope to do with the choir!). One thing that sets this benediction apart is that God Himself told Moses that this was how he was to bless the Israelites. This is God’s desire for all of us. He wants to bless us, keep us safe, shine His Light upon us, and give us peace.

And this is my prayer for all of you. During these troubled times, I pray God’s protection over you. I pray that the Light of His presence will fill you, and that His grace will comfort you. I pray that His presence will be real in your life. But most of all, I pray that He will give you peace. Not peace as the world defines it, but peace as Jesus gives it. Not peace from the storm, but peace through the storm. I anxiously wait for when we can all be together again!

In Christ, Amy Smith
