“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18-19)
The new year is always a great time to start new things. It’s nice to have a fresh start, to see things from a new point of view, to not be concerned with things from the past. And that is just what we get when we give our lives to Christ! The Bible says that “We are a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Cor. 5:17) Our whole outlook on life has changed due to Christ and His sacrifice. We no longer live for ourselves, but we live for Him. We no longer seek what makes us happy, but what gives Him glory. We no longer desire the things of this world, but we desire to know Him more and more. It is my prayer for you in this new year that you forget the things of the past and see the new and wondrous things God has planned for you!
