Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” - (Matthew 22:37-38)

Worship is an outpouring of love. It is showing that we love, that we value something above everything else. Worship is not just showing God that we love Him…it’s showing that we value anything. Worship is an everyday action, but the question we need to ask ourselves is not “Did I worship today?” The real question is “What did I worship today?”

The word “love” is so overused in today’s culture. You may love your spouse, and at the same time love hamburgers. The word has been watered down to imply a general affection. This is not the kind of love God asks of us. It’s not the kind of love He desires from us. He wants us to love Him with our whole heart, our whole soul, our whole mind – our whole being. Because this is the kind of love He has given to us.

Did you love God like that today? Did you love Him in your Bible reading time or your prayer time? Did you love Him by showing that love to others, including friends and family? Did you love Him by telling someone how much you love Him, and how much He loves them? If you did, then you worshiped Him.

In Christ, Amy Smith
